POSITION OBJECTIVES
The IM/GIS Officer within the HMA Department supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of data collection plans. The role focuses on recording and reporting departmental activities to ensure accurate and timely information sharing with sector actors, donors, and relevant stakeholders. Additionally, responsibilities include assisting in designing and maintaining a HMA Department data collection platform under the supervision of the IM/GIS Coordinator.
Regardless of the content of this job description the employee is expected to participate in any task necessary for the organization always delegated by the manager.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare paper maps for printing as required by operational management team for field use.
- Create and periodically update paper maps for briefings and other office needs.
- Prepare statistical data and maps for reports to donors, headquarters, or partners.
- Participate in the development of dashboards for internal use by the HMA Department.
- Provide support to non-technical survey teams in creating non-technical survey reports (preparing sketch-map, checking polygon shapes to avoid overlaps, etc.).
- Ensure feedback to demining teams, non-technical survey teams, and other operational staff to improve the accuracy of collected data.
- Ensure that the data used by the team is up-to-date.
- Carry out other tasks assigned by the IM/GIS Coordinator and/or the Operations Manager.
- Verify the quality of data in reports from non-technical survey teams and clearance teams.
- Provide necessary information from the database upon request.
Work related travels are expected in this position.
