About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer Consultant to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in helping our clients implement and optimize their DevOps strategies and infrastructure. You will leverage your extensive knowledge across a broad range of technologies to design, build, and automate robust, scalable, and secure solutions. You'll act as a trusted advisor, providing technical guidance and best practices to our clients, enabling them to achieve their business objectives through efficient and effective DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consulting & Advisory: Provide expert-level guidance and best practices to clients on DevOps methodologies, infrastructure design, and automation strategies. Assess existing infrastructure and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, focusing on repeatability, scalability, and version control. Implement IaC for cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and potentially hybrid environments utilizing HPE Greenlake.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Podman. Design and implement Kubernetes clusters on various platforms, including Rancher, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. Implement GitOps practices with tools like ArgoCD.
- Cloud Platform Expertise: Architect and implement solutions across Azure and AWS cloud platforms, leveraging their respective services for compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop automation scripts using Python, C#, and PowerShell to streamline infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and operational tasks.
- Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD): Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, integrating source control, testing, and deployment processes. Promote and enhance CI/CD best practices within client organizations.
- Operating System Expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of both Windows and Linux operating systems, including performance tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting.
- Monitoring & Logging: Implement monitoring and logging solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues. Utilize cloud-native and third-party tools to ensure system health and performance.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues, working collaboratively with development and operations teams.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for implemented solutions and processes. Share knowledge and mentor junior team members.
- Stay Current: Continuously learn and stay abreast of new technologies and industry best practices in the DevOps space.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience (8+ years) as a DevOps Engineer, with a strong focus on consulting and client interaction.
- Expert-level knowledge of Azure DevOps, including pipelines, artifacts, repositories, and test plans.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and operations, with practical experience in setting up and managing Kubernetes clusters.
- Proficiency in Rancher for multi-cluster management and administration.
- Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure as code automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with ArgoCD for implementing GitOps principles.
- Proficient in scripting languages including Python, C#, and PowerShell for automation.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems including administration and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Podman for containerization.
- Significant experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms, including networking, compute, storage, and security services.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and related methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with HPE Greenlake hybrid cloud solutions.
- Experience with Morpheus for multi-cloud management and automation.
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
- Experience with other configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
