Interdisciplinary innovation project
Systematic
Would you like to help tackle future healthcare challenges in a groundbreaking, interdisciplinary innovation project with Systematic?
Participate in a new interdisciplinary innovation project as part of your project-based internship.
You will be based at Systematic and work in a team with five students from completely different fields of study. Because solving the wicked problems of the future requires collaboration across disciplines. The vision is to create a radical new solution to monitor and prevent health issues and promote well-being among Danes aged 50-70.
As part of the innovation team, you’ll have wide-ranging opportunities to explore the problem and work on the project. At the same time, you will be well-equipped to tackle the task, culminating in your team pitching your project idea to our internal Healthcare Product Board—just like we do with all internal projects in the company.
The innovation project will span several years, meaning your work will lay the foundation for future groups of students, including both theses and project-based study programs.
We offer
A fascinating and socially relevant task with significant potential impact for Danish citizens, carried out in collaboration with other disciplines.
In addition, you will receive:
- A creative office environment close to Ringgaden and Aarhus University.
- Free lunch.
- A dedicated contact person (specialist) for each team with special focus on the business perspective, knowledge of project implementation, development methods and healthcare domain knowledge.
- An interdisciplinary coordinator from Aarhus University (specialist in innovation processes) to support both Systematic and the team in ensuring a smooth process. You will still have your individual academic supervisor as your subject-specific mentor.
- Onboarding and kick-off to qualify the problem and your product deliveries based on your ideas and team.
- Courses in business development and innovation based on the methods we use at Systematic.
- Training to help you succeed as a team, fostering respect for one another’s expertise and competencies.
- Facilitated team meetings every two weeks, where you’ll reflect on collaboration and project progress.
Following the project-based internship, we offer thesis collaboration for selected team members, enabling you to delve deeper into specific parts of the project for your thesis in the spring. For high-performing students, this could also pave the way to your first job.
Who are you?
You are a master’s student in your 8th semester, seeking a project-based internship for your next semester.
Your academic background is not decisive. We are broadly recruiting candidates from all five faculties because we work interdisciplinarily. This means you will have the opportunity to contribute your specific expertise while collaborating with students from entirely different fields. We believe this is how the best and most innovative solutions are created.
The task requires insights into areas such as ethics, healthcare, GDPR, technology, business models, innovation processes, user involvement, design, analysis, and society. Thus, we need profiles from humanities, business, technology, health, and natural sciences.
As a person, you are curious, open to collaboration, yet able to work independently and confident in your expertise. Additionally, you should be ambitious, quality-conscious, open to change, and receptive to constructive feedback. The project is open to both Danish and English-speaking students.
Join the team
This interdisciplinary innovation project is a unique opportunity that will provide you with practical experience in innovation processes, collaboration, and communication in interdisciplinary teams, as well as insights into one of Denmark’s largest IT companies with strong values and a global outlook. Our mission is to deliver IT solutions that make it simpler for users to make crucial decisions in demanding situations.
The project will also challenge and expand your expertise, allowing you to apply it in entirely new ways—skills highly sought after in the job market and a valuable addition to your CV.
To be considered, please send a motivated application no later than March 15. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and teams will be formed once suitable candidates are found. Apply quickly, as we anticipate significant interest in this groundbreaking project.
The project begins August 12-14 with a joint onboarding program. Selected candidates will receive detailed information and practical instructions well in advance.
