Text We offer:
Traineeships of up to 6 months within the following sections of the EU Delegation to Mongolia, starting in June and July 2025.
- Traineeship in the Political, Press and Information Section (PPI):
Main tasks:
- Support the section in the organisation, preparation and implementation of EU communication, visibility and cultural activities, focusing on issues related to youth and propose activities
- Draft texts, such as social media posts, press releases, memos, reports, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of meetings and events with practical arrangements
- Assist in the preparation of the weekly press review and the weekly political updates by monitoring daily incoming news and information
- Contribute to administrative tasks as required, i.e. translations, letters, filing, delivery of letters to external parties and similar.
- Help the Head of Political, Press and Information Section as well as colleagues with other emerging tasks in their fields of responsibility.
- Traineeship in the Administration Section (ADMIN):
Main tasks:
- Translations of incoming documents from English to Mongolian with the landlords maintenance team;
- Interpretation tasks during meetings with external parties;
- Drafting replies to letters, preparing minutes and reports from meetings;
- Assistance with facilities management tasks;
- Assistance with market research for various equipment and supplies;
- Assistance with preparation of reports to headquarters on buildings leased and owned;
- Compiling and contributing to briefings and reports;
- Filling in for ad-hoc requests
We look for:
Qualifications or special requirements:
- Taking into account the local health and security conditions, applicants currently residing in Mongolia will only be considered.
- University degree in political sciences, linguistics, business administration, social studies or similar discipline for PPI section; University degree in business administration, law, architecture, engineering or similar discipline for Admin section;
- Good analytical skills and capacity to formulate these in a structured manner;
- Ability and willingness to work in an international environment;
- Ability to deliver good quality work output in tight deadlines;
- Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages;
- Excellent English and Mongolian language skills;
- Initiative, flexibility, good organisational skills and a team player is an advantage.

Please mention in the subject of your e-mail: Funded Traineeship - Name/PPI or NAME/Admin (you may only apply to 1 traineeship per delegation, however based on your profile, the delegation could offer you a traineeship in another section).
Important information to read before applying
Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship).
Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.
The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.
Citizens from EU Member states:
- must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
must hold a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable, based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.
