The Supply & Demand Technology team builds and innovates global Digital solutions for the entire supply chain in The LEGO Group, which is vital to delivering phenomenal play experiences across the world.
We handle massive and fast-changing amounts of data, our products are the foundation for planning the Supply, Production, and Distribution of LEGO products globally.
We have a focus on Quality, Speed, using skilled and motivated people and modern software development practices to accomplish this.

Core Responsibilities
- Leading a competency group of Software Engineers
- Work with people skills and opportunities for development, growth and improvement
- Foster a learning culture for continued learning and knowledge sharing, internally and across product teams while promoting good engineering practices within your product teams
- Drive technical excellence and DevSecOps culture and attitude with focus on cost and efficiency
- Support Agile Methodologies and Continuous Improvement
- Attract diversity and talent
- Strong senior leadership skills, contributing to the organizational Leadership Team with strategic sparring and comprehensive thinking, based on healthy engineering practices
- Thriving in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, supporting complex challenges, programs and deliverables

In the role as Competency Lead, you will work as a leader for 6-12 employees, ensuring we have the right skills and grow talents, whilst also taking an active role in our senior leadership team contributing to outlook and strategic direction.
This role gives an exciting opportunity to lead and grow Engineers while being instrumental in implementing the overall strategy for Supply and Demand Technology.

Do you have what it takes?
- Great communication, leadership and coaching skills founded in a vast number of years of experience within leading engineers and contributing to senior leadership team
- Proven partner management skills
- Deep understanding of technology, best practices and skills needed in modern software development to be able to mentor and coach your employees to develop in role as engineers
- Experience with working in an agile development environment
- Being a standout colleague and embracing diversity both within your own team and in the leadership team
- A curious teammate with an aim to continuously learn, naturally shares knowledge and challenges the status quo based on well-founded experience
- Technically competent able to spar at varying levels of engineering, from Junior Engineer up to Director of Engineer and beyond
- Test driven development, CI/CD and DevSecOps mentality
- Able to spread influential leadership across a wide pool of Product Engineering teams
Advanced English both written and verbal would be ideal as we are an internationally gathered team.
