Used intracranial injection to express DREADDs in neurological pathways to investigate its influence on rat behaviour. To ensure correct injection, I wrote an algorithm to characterize transfection by ABC-P IHC.

I used PCR to identify the 16S gene of the gut microbiota in feces samples from PFHxS treated rats. Further, I looked at the freezing time influence on stored samples, and of PCR replicability between batches with a MOCK sample. The DNA was sequenced and processed in QIIME in order to remove misreadings, assign taxonomy, build a phylogenetic tree, and make a diversity analysis.

I genotyped cre recombinase gene insertion in gene-modified rats. I extracted DNA from a tail sample, and amplified cre recombinase DNA with PCR and identified positive animals with gel electrophorese

I worked with packing laboratory equipment and discarding overdue research samples.
