Det Juridiske Fakultet er blandt de fire oprindelige fakulteter ved Københavns Universitets grundlæggelse i 1479. Fakultetet excellerer i en stærk forskningsmæssig bredde fra retsdogmatisk forskning til tværfaglig forskning, fra national til international forskning og fra grundforskning til anvendelsesorienteret forskning. Fakultetet huser to grundforskningscentre, og fakultetets forskningsmiljøer har succes med at tiltrække ekstern finansiering til retsvidenskabelig forskning.
